Yoga lead by Tari Prinster of New York City's OM Yoga
Tari Prinster is an 8-year breast cancer survivor and a yoga instructor. Having started yoga at age 50, Tari considers herself an example that it is never too late to start change. Through yoga, Tari personally found not only a way to reduce pain, feel younger and stay healthy, but guidance thru cancer and an avenue for managing life’s challenges and stress. Wanting to bring this understanding of yoga to others, Tari co-developed a program for women cancer survivors including weekly classes, 3-day retreats and teacher trainings with the help of OM Yoga Studio in Manhattan, NYC. Tari was certified by OM Yoga Centerin 2002 and has studied with Cyndi Lee, Genevieve Kaupler, Judith Lasater and Gerard Arnaud. She is a frequent presenter at Yoga Journal Conferences. Don't miss an opportunity to experience a yoga class lead by this renowned instructor!

Yoga Heals is an awareness and fundraising event for Breast Cancer Recovery. The event provides a way to support women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer while sharing the healing benefits of yoga. Yoga Heals will bring together 200+ men and women on the shores of Lake Monona.
Beginners and long-time yoga fans are welcome. We encourage everyone to attend and bring friends and family. After the yoga sessions attendees can enjoy a light breakfast and browse informational booths about local yoga studios and other wellness resources. Join with us to enjoy the healing benefits of yoga and raise funds and awareness of Breast Cancer Recovery.
Nature and Yoga:
Breast Cancer Recovery believes nature provides a wonderful avenue for healing. Our retreats take place in scenic, outdoor settings. We have found that yoga is also a powerful tool to help breast cancer survivors find healing and increased joy. Even women who have experienced a physical trauma to their body – such as cancer surgeries – can practice yoga and feel its benefits. The Yoga Heals event is an opportunity to bring together the two powerful allies of yoga and nature for a very worthwhile cause.
Yoga Heals: Until there is a cure, there is hope and healing.
The 90 Min. Yoga Class with Tari will be a gentle yoga for cancer survivors, family and friends that will offer inspiration and specifically address the physical needs and long-term side effects associated with breast cancer treatments. Surprising as it may seem, yoga should be approached with caution when you are a survivor. My mission is to teach women how to move forward into survivorship with proper yoga tools that empower and enrich their lives. Yoga is not one-size-fits-all. Together we will explore how yoga heals.
1) OM's Unique style is well matched with the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of survivors at all stages, whether undergoing treatment or long-term survivorship.
2) Yoga things you can do anywhere, anytime without putting down a yoga mat.
3) Simple breathing excercises
4) Fun, yes fun, ways to meditate
5) Modified sun salutations that cultivate awareness of the breath and moving safely.
6) Poses designed to create a cancer unfriendly body.
7) Learn how to feel graceful and beautiful in doing yoga, whatever day or body you have.
8) Delicious restorative poses that address the long term side effects of cancer surgeries.
9) Confidence to explore yoga that meets your changing needs as they change along the road to health and strength.
